A Certain Ratio

Formed in the late 1970s, A Certain Ratio were one of the primary creators of punk-funk: a fusion of the new-wave craze with funk and soul sensibilities. Starting out signed to Factory Records, the band's distinct style found a particularly warm reception in New York, and they retain a loyal following today.

Combining the driving weight of post-punk with more dynamic and active jazz funk components, ACR went on to inspire a huge number of modern acts.
