Alice Russell sings like an throaty, lusty angel. Her voice is like honey, it coats you, raises the hairs on your arms, is sweet and deep and rich.
She first became popular when she sang for the Quantic Soul Orchestra - Will Holland's live project. She has also worked with Mr Scruff and Nostalgia 77 (for an incredible cover of White Stripe's 'Seven Nation Army').
Her solo work is performed with a nine-piece band called 'Alice Russell Live'. Her solo album 'Under The Munka Moon' (Tru Thoughts) is a wonderful debut which includes collaborations with Plaid, Bah Samba, Nature Boy and Quantic.
