Alicia Keys

Since her debut album Songs In A Minor, released in 2001, the American R & B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys has won nine Grammy Awards and sold over twenty million albums worldwide.  Her first album alone featuring her hit single 'Fallin' sold over ten million copies and won her five Grammys including 'Best Artist' and 'Best R & B Album'.  This was followed by her second album The Diary of Alicia Keys, which sold nine million copies and earned her four more Grammys.  So far her third album As I Am has sold over six million copies since its release in 2007, making her one of the best-selling artists of the decade.

Along with White Stripes singer Jack White, she recently recorded a duet for the 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace called 'Another Way To Die'; the first duet in the history of Bond theme tunes.

As well as her music, in which she can sing and play the piano and cello, Keys has acted in several films such as The Nanny Diaries with Scarlett Johansson and The Secret Life of Bees with Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifah.  She also does a lot of charity work in Africa and performs free concerts like Live 8 to try and help cancel world debt.  Busy lady.

Alicia Keys has been a breath of fresh air, since she 1st stepped onto the music scene back in 2001, with her début album Songs in A minor.
Alicia Keys is a rare sight, she is unique on so many different levels.
She has such a soulful voice, that is distinguishable amongst the best.

She is an amazing performer, a beautiful singer, and a unique individual!

Alicia Keys – Doesn't Mean Anything
Columbia

Alicia Keys is one of my favourites. If I can just burn a horrible image onto your brain forever I like nothing better than a good shower sing-along to 'If I Ain't Got You'.

She's amazingly talented and has shown as recently as 'Empire State of Mind' that she can still pick a hit. So why does this release, perfectly timed to follow up her VMA tour-de-force with Jay-Z, sound like a Leona Lewis track? It's just so bloody boring! Fail. 0/5
