North London’s own Amy Jade Winehouse has rarely been out of the tabloid press of late. Her boozy antics and friendships with the partying elite such as Kate Moss, Pete Doherty, Noel Fielding and Alex Zane have threatened to overshadow her position as one of the finest vocal talents of her generation. Her unfortunately pun-worthy surname and signature tune ‘Rehab’ haven’t helped matters.
When not edging towards self-parody however, Amy is one of the strongest jazz and soul vocalists in the world today. Like a modern day Carole King or Billie Holliday, she possesses a voice so powerful that you can’t help but take notice. Add in the striking Amazonian appearance and she is truly the full package, a modern day icon in the making.
