Applicants formed in 2005 after Fidel and Paul's former band Formula Bone fell apart and the next day were booked onto the inaugural Brainlove Tour.
They were joined by Jeffrey James, a cheery soul, who assured the boys that absolutely nothing could go wrong in her capable hands.
