Awsa
Awsa means Goddess in Norwegian, which is we gotta say a pretty awesome name. Plus it's pronounced as in awesome, so that's also, um, pretty awesome...
Awsa has done backing vocals for all sorts of diverse people - Elton John, Elbow, Blue, Madonna, Puff Daddy, Razorlight and the Osmond family. She's also been on TV as a singing pig!
After having been told by Nick Cave to 'tone it down in the background' Awsa realised it was time to stop living vicariously through a legend and get her own band. She describes the music they now play as 'naughty fun'. Naughty AND fun? Brilliant!
