Cat Power

Charlyn Marshall, aka Cat Power, made her start in the music business in 1994, opening for Liz Phair in New York and recording three acclaimed albums before dropping off the radar in 1996. Originally planning to retire completely from music completely, she awoke from a nightmare one night to write several songs that would feature on a comeback record. Now well and truly back in business, Cat Power may be known for her stage fright and chaotically shy performance style, but it is her music and arresting vocals that set her apart from the pack.
