Another bunch of latter day beatniks from the fahionable New York borough of Brooklyn, avant pop outfit Chairlift formed with the perhaps lofty and unrealistic goal of making music for haunted houses.
Quicky outgrowing their original direction, Chairlift have made a name for themselves alongside similar up and comers like MGMT , Yeasayer and Mixel Pixel.
Releasing Does You Inspire You? in 2008, the band have melded their space rock tendencies into something musch more indie pop, and have been rewarded with a track on one years iPod adverts.
