Born on Christmas Day in 1971, Dido rose to fame when, in 2000, Eminem sampled the first verse of 'Thank You' for his track 'Stan'.
After that, the album 'No Angel' (on which 'Thank You' appears) was the UK's top-selling album in 2001, and Dido is now one of the most successful female British singer-songwriters in the world today.
Whilst some may deride her slightly bland breathy voice and the 'easy-listening' aspect of her music, nobody can argue with album sales. Well, they can, but Dido's not going to care.
