Ebony Bones

Punk myspace phenomenon featuring Ebony, a Grace Jones wannabe from Brixton, and Rat Scabies, formerly drummer with The Damned. The punk ethos is alive and kicking in this act.

With a loud, proud style that is a cross between a carnival float and a punk boutique, this band makes a crowd smile when they take the stage. The drumming is magnificent and the cheeky, knock off songs like 'Don't fart on my heart' and 'No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs' pay a knowing tribute to the witty outrage of earlier generations.

Ebony Bones is essentially a tongue-in-cheek pastiche of several scenes thrown together for maximum impact. While it entertains, you have to say the music is crap. There is absolutely nothing to it, except a considerable slice of punk, in-your-face hype. It might even be some kind of joke.

In a pre-myspace era the lead singer of this troupe would have been shouting about herself into a phone on the top deck of the bus. Now she is annoying on an entirely different level.
