Empire Of The Sun
Rock+electro=pop? We're not sure but this definitely works. Empire Of The Sun is a collaboration between Nick Littlemore and Luke Steele.
Littlemore is one half of Sydney electro duo Pnau and Steele is guitarist and vocalist for Perth rock band The Sleepy Jackson, both of which have gone down a storm in Oz recently.
Produced by Jonathan Sloan of Sneaky Sound System, they recently released their album debut in October 2008. 'Walking On A Dream' is the first single and has created quite a stir, helped by the fact it was initially shrouded in mystery. The video was reportedly heavily influenced by Alejandro Jodorowsky's cult classic film, The Holy Mountain, and features mad, psychedelic hi jinx through Shanghai.
