Multi-Grammy-winning Irish singer, instrumentalist and composer Enya (Ireland's best-selling solo artist) was born Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin on May 17, 1961 in Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal.
Her internatio0nal breakthrough came in 1988 with the album Watermark, and specifically the song Orinoco Flow (Sail Away). From here she hasn't looked back, and her folk-new age synth sounds and breathy multi-layered vocals are now some of the most instantly recognisable sounds in contemporary music.
