Erasure

Legendary synth pop duo consisting of keyboardist Vince Clarke and singer Andy Bell. Clarke, formerly of Depeche Mode and Yazoo, has worked with just about everyone in the electro pop business. His longest collaboration by some way has been with Vince. The pair released their first single in 1985 (Who Needs Love Like That) and are still making hits. The boys are massive gay icons but also heroes for anyone with an interest in electronic pop. They are past masters of the infectious disco beat and use husky vocals with great effect - inspiring legions of rather washed out imitators. A brilliant and prolific act with 22 albums and counting under their belts, Erasure can still blast a live show.
