Norwegian Ida Maria grew up on a diet of Television, Lou Reed, The Stooges and Britpop.
She makes a haunting version of the persistently popular jangly indie favoured by Holloway scene kids. Her jumpy indie is differentiated by a real ear for a melody and a distinctive, husky vocal.
Now based in Stockholm, she has been quietly building a following in the UK, supporting a whole gaggle of less good indie scenesters, and its coming good for her now, with solo shows at Koko and the like.
