Idlewild

Scottish rockers, led by the amusingly monikered Roddy Woomble, they have been making music and reinventing their sound since 1995.

Originally opting for a post-hardcore, angular hard rock sound, they softened up slightly and settled in with the Britpop sound of the mid 90s.

The sweeping, melodic tone of 2002's 'The Remote Part' was the sound of a band ready to step up to the big leagues, if only the world wasn't so consumed with the likes of Coldplay and Athlete.

They really do deserve to be huge, even if they are essentially an updated Husker Du.
