Jeffrey Lewis

We can trace the origins of New York anti-folkster Jeffrey Lewis back to the heady days in the '90s when he would play at the Sidewalk Cafe alongside the likes of the Moldy Peaches, Major Matt Mason and Lach.

Cult fame would lead to a deal with Rough Trade and a series of records highlighting Lewis's self-deprecating humour, comic-book storytelling and love of artists such as Leonard Cohen, The Fall and Will Oldham.

An accomplished component of the anti-folk scene who is on the cusp of mainstream success, he is also a very talented illustrator, check out his record covers.
