John Power
Remember the ginger guy from Cast and The Las? John Power, right! Well guess what? He’s only gone and grown a mountain man beard and formed a folk band.
His new stuff could probably best be described as folksy guitar with a Captain Beefheart bass thrown over on top, with a doff of the cap towards gospel and old-time rock and roll. It’s incredibly well-crafted, highly inventive, and a pleasure to watch.
John describes the process as getting to where he is now, as ‘going full’ circle, proof then that the long-road is often the one best travelled.
