Jonathan Richman

An enigma wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in a mystery is the only way to describe Jonathan Richman; whose childlike public persona and seeming naivete masks an underlying talent and skill that has seem him borrow liberally from garage rock and latin music and come up with some of the most important music of the late 20th century.

The former lead singer of The Modern Lovers, Richman was a leading figure in the proto-punk scene and has developed a fiercy loyal following the World over. No matter where his music has gone- from Spanish language albums to collections of nursery rhymes put to music, there always seems to be a strong cadre of people hopelessly devoted to this guy.
