The first vinyl releases by Leicester perma stubblists Kasabian came wrapped in flags for fans to wave at gigs. Thus giving the impression of some marauding Midlands invasion force, rampaging forth across the country to the 'phat' indie-electro crossover beats of 'Club Foot'. You could forgive them their impatience for world domination as it had taken five years to get their debut record out...though mostly due to still being in school and not some Columbian whiteout tribute to their Gallagher shaped idols.
Whilst you're older brother may well tell you that Kasabian are Oasis for wannabes the truth is somewhat less obvious. Over the course of two albums they have marked out their own niche as genuine successors to the Stone Roses, Primal Scream and that pair of brothers named after the refreshing fruit drinks. A lean and raw live act they manage to walk the fine line of meshing beats to guitar swagger with aplomb. In 2009 they return with their 'difficult 3rd' album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' which they intimated sees them go 'psychedelic'.
