Lamb of God
Possibly the only metal band we know of who have been nominated for a Grammy, Lamb of God are a US Death Metal band noticeable for their uncompromising nature.
Forming in 1998, recent work as seen them take a slightly more commercial edge (for them); a move which has confused more than a few commentators. However they continue to rarely stray from the drop D tuning and still sound like a icy wind blasting in from Odin's great hall in Vahalla, so we're not worried that they'll be covering Luther Vandross any time soon.
