Leonard Cohen

One of the greatest artist of the 20th century Leonard Cohen has been making music since the fifties and shows no signs of slowing down.

Cohen's earliest songs were rooted in European folk sung in a high baritone. By the seventies Cohen was experimenting with pop, cabaret and world sounds, before flirting with electronica throughout the 1980's.

Cohen's songs and poetry have influenced many other singer-songwriters, and more than a thousand renditions of his work have been recorded. He has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian and he is a Companion of the Order of Canada the nation's highest civilian honour.
