Lovvers

Not only the skinniest band not to come from Nottingham, Lovvers can also lay claim to being one of the most visceral, loud and downright exciting acts to grace a stage in recent years.

Watching Lovvers is like you're witnessing the Monorchid play Replacement songs with Darby Crash up front. As unlikely as it sounds, that works out so well that their début seven-inch was the first thing to sell out on Jonson Family in living memory and the blogger geeks are hailing them as the second coming of Christ.

Check out a review of Lovvers when they played 333 here.

This is a really, really good band who sound a little bit like Flipper crossed with Skull Kontrol.

Their début mini-album 'Think' is out on September 29th on Witchita, and I suggest you buy it.

Live Editor Dom is such a fanboy we considered renaming Spoonfed 'iheartlovvers.com' but they are good. Very good in fact.

Lovvers – OCD Go Go Girls
Wichita

An extremely surprising sound from Lovvers on this track, reflecting American ambitions, it's a lot less hardcore than normal. Which isn't to say it's not great. Just different.

Relegated, distorted vocals and smart lead guitar give it a shoegaze-meets-surfrock vibe and it's definitely the most radio-friendly track they've put out, but it still makes you want to party. What's the song about? You can't tell because the mix is deliberately, and wrongly out of kilter. 3.5/5
