Magik Markers
Hailing from a basement in Connecticut, Magik Markers are an experimental noise band who, inspired by no wave and old DC hardcore, have crafted a roaming free-range sound characterised by an stream-of-consciousness approach to songwriting.
Gaining notoriety after they opened for Sonic Youth in 2002, the pair have constantly built on their sound, even to the extent of adding glockenspiel parts to 2007's 'Boss'. Recent times have found Magik Markers mellowing slightly, but remaining as weirdly eclectic as ever.
