Formed in Boston in 1979, post-punk heroes Mission of Burma used the rebellious rocket fuel of punk-rock while attempting to broaden the range of its expression with varying progressions, and time signature shifts.
With a wall-of-noise approach so loud that original guitarist Roger Miller left the band in 1983 after developing tinnitus, the band had a huge impact on many bands that followed. Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Pixies and Graham Coxon all cited MoB as an influence.
