Modest Mouse were formed back in 1993 by singer Issac Brock, Jeremiah Green and Eric Judy. During the 90s, the band released a number of album but only succeeded in building up a cult following. It wasn't until the band released The Moon and Antarctica that they started to gained recognition, with the album being acknowledged by several magazines as one of the best indie rock records of the 90s.
In 2004, the band released Good News For People Who Love Bad News and both singles released from the album succeeded in gaining high chart positions.
2006 saw Johnny Marr of The Smiths join the band, increasing the band's publicity. Their latest album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank gave the band their first number one album.
Modest Mouse are a slightly schizophrenic band. Tracks like 'Float On' and 'Dashboard' are easily accessible songs, yet many of their album tracks are highly experimental. Yet the band are still going strong and impressing both music critics and the general public.
