Multi-hyphenate P Diddy is an American rapper, actor, producer, fashion designer and all-round ghetto superstar. Born Sean John Combs in Harlem, his lost his drug-pushing father at a young age when the latter was shot dead in car when he was a child. Diddy earned his own bad ass rep when he became entangled in gun possession, bribery and assault charges, among others.
Not that fans and critics mind. One of the richest people in hip-hop, he's notched up several Grammys - including one for the killer single 'I'll Be Missing You' with Faith Evans, a tribute to his slain friend Notorious B.I.G. His clothing line Sean John is a high-street phenomenon, claiming the Menswear Designer of the Year award in 2004.
