Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam, comprising Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron, are grunge rock royalty. Having sold over 60 million albums since 1990, the Seattle-based band are one of the most influential rock bands of the past two decades, with memorable tunes like 'Alive', 'Black', 'Even Flow' and 'Jeremy'. Not bad for an anti-commercial band who once sought to make their music 'less catchy'.

Despite several changes in their line-up, gravelly-voiced Vedder remains a constant. The band's staying power proves they are not - and never were - pretenders to the throne.
