Forest Gate’s Ben Drew is something of an oddity in the rapping world as his rhymes are spat over his acoustic guitar. Despite this unorthodox style, he was snapped up by the Streets’ label 679 and came fourth in a BBC Sound of 2006 poll. His songs show influences ranging from rap acts like Eminem and DMX, but also elements of Johnny Cash, Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine, and his debut album ‘Who Needs Actions When You Got Words’ was a huge critical hit.
