Shield Your Eyes

The end is just the beginning, or so they say. This is certainly the case for musicians Toby Hayes and Stef Ketteringham of Shield Your Eyes who are veterans of some of the most interesting bands to come out of the UK underground scene in a long time. Going back to 2003/4 they existed as part of Strobe 45, an exemplary hardcore band that was at the forefront of a burgeoning scene based around Guildford.
Following the split of the band Toby went on to front the acclaimed post hardcore band Meet Me In St Louis who released one EP on Function records and one incredible album on Big Scary Monsters before splitting. Stef mean while busied himself playing one man violence blues as Guns Or Knives and performing as one half of implosive noise terrorists Candles and setting up the Run For Your Lives record label.

The band, completed by time signature wizard Henri George, ex Bottlenose Dolphins, on drums came together at the tail of 2006 and began to play live in 2008.
They have recorded and released their debut album in October of 2008 and continue to tour ferociously.
The band deliver an explosive combination of experimental noise segments and compact, deliberate math-melody.

They favour Deerstalkers, noise and not facing the crowd.
