Slum Village
A hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan, the three members of Slum Village met in high school. Baatin, T3 and Jay Dee were the original members, with Elzhi joiing in 2002 when Jay Dee left to pursue his solo career.
Baatin became ill in 2004 and the group became a duo temporarily. J Dilla died in 2006 and Illa J - J Dilla's brother - joined 'to have an essence of Dilla' on their new project.
Baatin died in 2009 - the cause of death remains unknown.
The group's latest album 'Villa Manifesto' features the late Baaton and Illa J.
