As you would probably expect for a collective that has risen from London's pirate radio and garage scenes, The So Solid Crew and controversy have gone hand in hand.
Famous for having what seems like a thousand members, the band has been the closest thing the UK has produced to a proper Gangsta rap band (discounting Blazin' Squad, mind) and have seen various member arrested for a variety of weapon and drug offences.
Despite being the Daily Mail's number one threat to moral standards for most of the early naughties, the group's blend of radio-friendly garage and dubstep has been wildly successful and they remain the top-selling garage crew of all time.
