Since their beginnings in 1981, New York's Sonic Youth have been at the forefront of the musical avant-garde, influencing grunge, indie and rock bands galore on the way.
Though they have consistently released albums that have delighted and challenged in equal measure, their late 80s/early 90s output, with classic albums 'Daydream Nation' and 'Goo' is their best work, and stands as some of the best alternative rock of all time.
