Spinnerette
American alt rock band Spinnerette, which emerged in March 2007, is fronted by former lead vocalist and guitarist of defunct punk rock band The Distillers, Brody Dalle. Dalle insists that Spinnerette is not a band, but rather 'me and whichever musicians I want to work with at the time.' Charming.
Currently, Dalle seems to have chosen fellow Distiller Tony Bevilacqua, Jack Irons and Alain Johannes to play in her band, but this line-up changes on tour.
Their eponymous album was released in June 2009, having been made available for listening on their Myspace.

Spinnerette – Baptized By Fire

Is this a piss-take? It must be, surely. There's no other explanation for it. No one in their right mind would dream of releasing such a nauseating combination of rock and that repetitive dance beat (think Ibiza circa 2001) and expect to be taken seriously.
The video does nothing to discourage my suspicions – it features a woman dressed in a floaty black dress flailing around on a beach. I hope for everyone's sake they're being ironic. 1/5
