One of the quintessential post-rock bands of the 90s, Sterelab took elements of krautrock - particularly the sort of indie pop/prog rock/psychedelia concept that German rockers Faust pioneered - and mixed it with a light shoegaze 60s pop style, finishing it off with some clean, though hazy, production.
Occasionally lapsing into the territory of lounge music, with Laetitia Sadier's vocals sometimes encompassing a crooning Texas-style quality, Stereolab nevertheless succeed at joining disparate elements of rock, pop and electronica together, sealing them with an experimental kick.
