The Bays

Festival favourites The Bays are one of the best loved bands in the UK, without ever having released a single or appeared on MTV. For this collection of musicians, "performance is the product" and every live show is completely different. The Bays will play anything from bone-shaking dub to classic electronica, improvising to suit the crowd and the mood, and taking their audience in new directions at will.

The Bays don't have a record contract or a label: they just play live. Of course you can download some of their sets but these guys have to be seen live, to catch their vibe. Renowned around the world, The Bays have been spreading their freeform dub dance message for many years and have an army of fans. Any chance to catch them in London should be grabbed early, and they draw massive crowds at Bestival, The Glade and other UK festivals.

The Bays are Andy Gangadeen, Chris Taylor, Jamie Odell and Simon Richmond. Relentlessly touring the world with nothing to promote but their love of music, and playing live with salsa legends, Japanese cellists, and every colour and type of artist, these guys truly live for their music. There's no album to promote, no clothing label, no pop videos - just pure, emotional live performance. As they put it, life for The Bays is: "all about the moment - an experience that exists between the band and the audience for only one moment in time".
