The Black Eyed Peas

Who'd have thought 'My Humps' would win a Grammy, but there it is.  In fact The Black Eyed Peas consisting of Will.i.am, apl.de.ap (catchy name), Taboo and Fergie have won three Grammys and been nominated for seven more since their big 2003 hit 'Where Is The Love?'.  This was no.1 in the UK charts for six weeks and became the biggest selling single of the year.  The album it came from, Elephunk, had another huge hit with 'Shut Up' and subsequently went platinum in the US and UK.

In total, the group's poppy/hip-hop style of music has sold an estimated twenty-seven million albums and singles worldwide.  Not bad for a band who originally released 'Let's Get It Started' as 'Let's Get Retarded'.

Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling
Polydor

Uh oh, BEP attempts a bit of Daft Punk but falls gigamiles short. Wil.i.am, you lazy bugger. I'm guessing all you did was lay down some tracks, set them on repeat and then sneak off for a hot dog.

An ear-grating Euro-poppy bass line, over-processed vocals and monotonous lyrics about how 'tonight's gonna be a good night' make this bloated turkey of song a whole four minutes too long. Now, tonight's gonna be a crap night thanks to you. Argh. 1/5
