Ahh the Cure: is there anything better? Odd looking enough to appeal to the really alternative, yet with good enough songs to appeal to mainstreamy types too.
Obviously Robert Smith's bird's nest hairdo is pretty out there, but with songs like 'Love Cats', 'Pictures Of You', 'Why Can't I Be You', and 'Boys Don't Cry' the Cure are way better than Goth genre music. Lyrically intelligent, and musically diverse, it's all tied together by Smith's astounding voice. Tender, arch, depressed, and uplifting, and often all at the same time. One of the greats.
