Hypnotic indie folk from the psychedelic belly of South London's paisley underground. The Lea Shores are haunting, clever and memorable, and their mesmerizing effect is massively amplified by seeing them live.
The vocal harmonies of brothers Simon and Nick Webb overlay complex, driving melodic lines laid by the other four band members including violinist and Brian Eno cohort Nell Catchpole. They sound a bit like mellow Gallagher brothers but the band as a whole are influenced by the entire spectrum of British pop from the LSD era Beatles to the lighters-in-the-air anthemic breaks of Ocean Colour Scene.
A very good band and even better live.
