The Rapture
An American punk-funk band based in New York City, mixing influences of post-punk, dance-punk, acid house, disco, electronica, rock and indie.
Originally formed in 1998, they have released two full length albums to date, and are regarded as precursors to the angular punk revival in Britain around 2004/05 with bands such as Franz Ferdinand, Maximo Park and Bloc Party.
