The Sounds

Upbeat new-wave pop band from Helsingborg, Sweden, The Sounds were founded in 1999. Their musical style is primarily New Wave with punk and electronic pop influences, making great use of synthesizers, while blonde bombshell Maja Ivarsson provides a spunky vocal lead. Often compared to New Wave acts such as Blondie, The Cars, The Epoxies and Missing Persons, they are hugely popular in the US. Their debut album Living in America was released in 2002, with the follow up Dying to Say This to You out in March 2007. Also, their music has featured on the soundtracks to the Hollywood films Final Destination 2 and Snakes on a Plane. A captivating live act, The Sounds certainly know how to put on a show.
