Thee Vicars
Garage punk band Thee Vicars sound a bit like The Sex Pistols might sound if they played 60s rock in the vein of The Kinks or The Sonics. Not a totally outlandish concept of course, which is why Thee Vicars pull off such a feat pretty well.
Their music is tight, despite the deliberately scuzzy and slightly distorted method of recording, and Mike Whittaker's schizophrenic vocals sound completely at home. Their palette may be quite narrow but for those with a taste for retro punk, it suits very well indeed.
