Wolfmother

Australia's a bit different isn't it? What with breaking away from Africa all those years ago, it's got completely whacky wildlife, most of it either Marsupial or deadly. And it's huge and rough, with everyone drinking their own bodyweight daily and fighting for fun if AC/DC's Highway To Hell biog is to be believed. Which it is.

Their rock scene has always been a bit different too - in a retro, glorious way. INXS, AC/DC... they all grew up in isolation from the mainstream and weren't afraid to play it hard.

And now we have Wolfmother. Their schtick is a hard-rocking psychedelic homage to Led Zeppelin at their 'Black Dog' zenith. Only much, much less good. These guys are good for a rock out, and certainly not a stain on humanity like, say, The Darkness. But still trifling.
