After bursting onto the scene in 2001 with their self-titled debut EP, Yeah Yeah Yeahs established themselves as a major force in the garage rock revival of the time. Like The White Stripes, they didn't have a bass player, but the songs were so good that they didn't need one.
Their angular, artsy sound and Karen O's iconic style attracted a huge fan base, and their live shows have long been legendary.
The band's long-awaited 3rd album was released in April 2009, and with guitarist Nick Zinner moving to primarily play keyboards, the record ushered in a move from a guitar-heavy rock sound to a more danceable, pulsing electro-pop sound.
