What's on in Camden

Camden, or more formally Camden Town, is central both physically and culturally in London and is perhaps best known for its street markets of which there are seven. Camden has served as a centre of alternative culture since the 1960s and today still appeals to fans of many musical subcultures including goth, indie, metal and punk.  The large number of popular live music venues bring in a wide range of performing acts. Situated around the Regent’s Canal, Camden offers an assortment of traditional pubs, lively bars, art galleries and comedy venues showcasing many upcoming talents and some of the best clubbing in London.

About Camden

Camden, located  in the London Borough of Camden, is a hub of youth culture and live music venues, and has been featured in numerous songs, films and televisions shows. Both Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin played their debut gigs at the Roundhouse ushering in a decade of rock and punk. Camden has also received press recently as the London hang-out of singer/celebrity Amy Winehouse and continues to be home for numerous “Bo-Bos” (bourgeois bohemians) to poet laureates.
It is located north west of the City of London and north of Regent’s Park.
