Things to do in King's Cross

What's on in King's Cross

London’s King's Cross is an area providing a healthy blend of both cultural entertainment and thriving nightlife. By day people flock to the famous British Library, drop into some unique exhibitions at the Wellcome Collection, or watch some laugh-aloud comedy at the Bloomsbury Theatre. At night some of London’s most popular superclubs, including Egg, Scala and the Big Chill House are found in the King's Cross area making this a popular district for music and clubbing.

About King's Cross

Located in the London Borough of Camden, King's Cross has not always been considered a desirable area to visit and was once one of London’s most rundown and seedy districts. However with the recent canal redevelopment and renovation of one of London’s most important train stations, St Pancras Station, the area is now on the up. For many people visiting London, King's Cross Station and St Pancras Station will be the first places they see.

Now, rather than jumping on a tube into the centre of town it’s just as enjoyable to stay and wander around the beautifully restored St Pancras station, which is full of shops, cafés and even a champagne bar overlooking the Eurostar.

If you’ve craving a bit of culture then it’s just a short walk to the British Library which houses over 25 million books as well as various historical documents. According to urban folklore Boudicea, Britain’s warrior queen, is buried beneath platforms 9 and 10.

Train delayed? Head to Camino’s, a little Spanish bar only metres from the Station for a glass of Rioja and a plate of tapas. Or head to the cold, dark crypt of St Pancras Parish Church, which frequently hosts unusual exhibitions of contemporary art.
