National Maritime Museum, Romney Road Greenwich, Greenwich, SE10 9NF
During the second world war, allied forces formed convoys in order to transport tanks, fighter planes, fuel, ammunition, and food all the way to Russia to help in the fight against Nazi Germany.
These convoys went via the Arctic along a route described by Churchill as "the worst journey in the world".
Now, to mark the 70th anniversary of the first such convoy, the National Maritime Museum host an exhibition that explores what it must have been like.
Until 28.02.11.
