In response to George Osborne's slashing of the Arts Council budget, Tate head honcho Sir Nicholas Serota predicted, with characteristic understatement, an "arts blitzkreig".
In response Transition Gallery are holding Art Blitz, a fundraising event inspired both by the Blitz itself and by the 1980s - artists just luuuurve to hate Dame Maggie.
A whole host of artists - Yinka Shonibare, Laura Oldfield Fors, Stella Vine... - have donated works and there's an arty/auction on the Saturday night to raise money for the wonderful wee Hackney gallery that is Transition.
