This winter the Royal Academy continues its recently launched Artists' Laboratories programme with an exhibition of work by John Maine.
The concept behind the series is to allow a Royal Academician the time and the space to exhibit work that diverges from their usual practice.
In this case, Maine - best known for major outdoor commissions, like the new Green Park station - is exhibiting a site-specific indoor work for the very first time.
Consisting of a monumental installation of stone pieces, the exhibition is inspired by Maine's participation as an advisor in the restoration of the incredible thirteenth century Cosmati Pavement in Westminster Abbey.
Until 18.12.11.
Admission is free with a main galleries ticket.
