Founded by Cassa Pancho in 2001 to address the lack of black and Asian dancers practising ballet at the highest level, Ballet Black has now enjoyed eight sold out world tours, demolishing the arguments of some stuck-in-the-pasts who argued there was little appetite among the black community for performing or watching ballet.
An essential part of the ballet calendar returns to the Royal Opera House in the Linbury Studio.
