It's always a little worrying when a celebrity rolls into town and can't sell the tickets for their show. Note Zach Braff still doing promos for his West End play on T4 and Cate Blanchet trying and failing to sell Big and Small on The Graham Norton Show of all places.
Why are there still tickets available? Well, the Barbican is a big place to sell out and Big and Small is avante garde German theatre (English translation by Martin Crimp) about a surreal road trip fuelled by a bunch of stereotypical supporting characters.
The story, if you can call it that, follows Blanchett's character as she tried to find love and belonging but instead hit relentless waves of rejection. Not the cheeriest of evenings, but you do get to see one of the worlds most incredible actresses on stage for 2 hours 40 minutes captivating audiences with her monologues and crying...a lot.
